Museums

The region has a great deal of culture on offer. As one of western Europe’s oldest university towns Leiden boasts world class museums such as De Lakenhal, Naturalis (the Dutch Natural History museum), the Museum van Oudheden (Archeology), Museum Boerhaave (Science History) and the Museum van Volkenkunde (Ethnology). In Corpus you can go on a journey through the human being. The Botanical Garden is certainly worth a visit. And if after some ‘culture seeing’ you fancy a meal and a drink you can choose from a wealth of cozy restaurants.

Kaag Resort’s central location also makes it easy to reach the museums and places of interest in cities such as The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. A few examples of what’s on offer: In The Hague a visit to the miniature city of Madurodam is well worth it. And if you love the art of painting The Hague is also the perfect place, with Panorama Mesdag, the Mauritshuis world small but world famous collection that includes Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring and various Rembrandts, or the Haags Gemeentemuseum featuring works by Mondriaan: all certainly worth a visit.

The flower fields region, which Warmond borders, is obviously extremely well known for the Keukenhof, But also for Space Expo, the space travel museum of ESA, the European Space Agency in Noordwijk. Amsterdam with all its famous museums and activities in only half an hour’s drive away.

Theaters

Leiden, The Hague and Amsterdam all have theatres and music venues that put on fantastic productions. Perfect for a nice evening out and all no more than a half-hour drive away. A few suggestions include the Circustheater and Diligentia in The Hague, De Kleine Komedie, De la Mar, Carré and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, to name but a few. Enjoyment guaranteed!
